Was the inaugural full-time certified school librarian at Farley Middle School. Drove inclusivity and
diversity in our library collection by securing a grant and meticulously curating materials representing diverse perspectives and experiences. Elevated the library's appeal by expanding and modernizing the graphic novels section, catering to the evolving tastes of our student body.
Fostered a culture of reading among faculty and staff through engaging monthly reading challenges, promoting literacy and camaraderie. Maintained transparent communication within the library community through the initiation of a monthly newsletter, ensuring everyone remained informed about upcoming activities and resources.

Updated library to be more welcoming and user friendly by moving furniture and adding a mini computer lab for student and staff use. Updated and maintained a curriculum based library collection consisting of 40% e-books and 60% print books, as well as audiobooks to not only meet the needs of students, but also that of a digital campus. Increased the flow of student library use by implementing library Makerspaces and library activities. Taught weekly information literacy lessons by collaborating with classroom teachers to increase digital citizenship and teach research and library skills. Updated and maintained the entire school and library website for better community access (http://www.hcisd.org/drcanoacademy). Assisted in the hiring and interviewing process of a second library clerk when a position was needed. Completed all campus technology and library inventory alone during Summer 2016 to improve and update the existing inventory.
